Title: Impression technique - the foundation for successful prosthetics: Mere Mortals can take amazing impressions.
Aims:
- To show how to take primary impressions easily whatever the the clinical scenario.
- To show why it can be difficult using stock dental impression trays alone.
- To show how you can be your technician’s favour client.
Objectives by the end of the lecture:
- You will no longer find taking primary impressions in general practice an intimidating and dreaded procedure.
- You will know why stock impression trays cannot be used without significant but easy modifications.
- As a result you will look forward to, rather than dread primary impression appointments by having the knowledge to use simple materials to achieve enviable results.
Biography:
Dr Mike Gregory is relatively unique in being qualified as a dental technician and a Dental Surgeon and has been teaching removable prosthetics since 1980. Since 1993 he’s been a part clinic lecturer at Bristol University Dental School. In addition, he lectures at a postgraduate level on a number of the Foundation Dental Schemes in the South West and Wales, for Health Education England and Health Education in Wales as well as running a number of courses each year for The English Southwest Postgraduate Deanery.
He also practices part time in general practice restricted to Removable Prosthodontics.
